Yesterday, I received a lot of mails and comments on how to improve this blog. Thank you. Most of the comments and mails I received asked me to make it easier to navigate to the different code samples on this site. To let you know that I took it serious, four new menu items have been added under "Things to download" in the right side of the page. That should hopefully take care of the navigational problem.
In the last couple of months, I've posted a lot of code samples and not much architectural content. That is also going to change, so it would be better balanced.
Surprisingly many readers also asked me to write about PHP, Ruby, Java and other platforms and languages. I’m sorry to disappoint you, but this is a .NET blog and nothing more than that - hence the name. There are plenty of resources for those platforms on the web.
Here is a list of the different tools I've developed and posted to this website. Source code in C# is included for all tools. The links points to the blog post, so you can get explanations and examples on how to use them. The tools are not covered by any licenses, so you can do with them what you want and modify them as much as you like.
The application let you save the keywords of all the websites you want to check. Then just press the “Find positions” button and it automatically retrieves the data from the different search engines.
Monitor your websites uptime. It checks websites quietly in the background and pops a balloon tip if a site doesn’t return HTTP status “200 - OK”.
Cleans up and deletes folders based on certain rules you provide.
An extended web browser that can be used for server variable simulation and validation of html pages - both local and remote.
It is a very simple app, which only does what it is supposed to do – edit resource files. No more, no less. The only added feature is a security lock down for the name column. This will prevent the copywriters from editing the name and deleting and adding rows. This can be turned on and off by checking the check box in the bottom left corner.
